Five Things We Learned from the #LadiesOfHorrorFiction Instagram Challenge

We learned several things doing the challenge that was the first step in getting Ladies of Horror Fiction established. We thought we’d take a minute to reflect. Posting a new picture for a prompt every day is a pain in the butt and many of us salute you all who do it regularly. (Seriously, how do you have enough books to do a post every day?! Let alone the motivation!) As we suspected, lots of people hadn’t heard of many of the women that were suddenly being brought to attention. What surprised us was how happily eager everyone was to learn more and to read more! We all went into…

    The “Weather” Recap

It seems the weather has been acting crazy everywhere for the past couple of months.  It’s been snowing more than normal.  It’s been drowning people with loads of rain.  It’s been scorching hot and unbearable to walk outside.  You name it, Mother Nature has been doing it.  But let’s check out some of our favorite LOHF books that encompass something weather-related! In case you missed it, don’t forget to see our recap last week where we show some highlights from the “VILLAIN” prompt! First up, we have The Winter People by Jennifer McMahon that missbonnie13 shared with us.  This photo just looks like it belongs atop an icy snow drift!…

(Psst: Miss last week’s recap of “Heart”? Check it out here.) View this post on Instagram My next Night Worms read sounds *super* interesting. The promo on the back says… “Bridget Jones meets the Exorcist” 😂😂😂 I gotta say, ‘nuff said ✋🏼 This book is also for the #ladiesofhorrorfiction prompt today “villain”. The “Heart” Recap

The recap from last week was all about your ‘Recommendations’ so take a second to go check it out if you missed it! Did we change the challenge on you all with all this talk of “hearts” and whatnot?  Absolutely not!  Horror books can have a little heart in them and still be horror!  See some of our favorites from this prompt below. This ice is not made of such stuff as your hearts may be; it is mutable and cannot withstand you if you say that…
